We had called the director yesterday, hoping that he would imitate the digging. Of course, when we arrived, no digging had taken place. One man, a plumber I think, said they would start at 2:00. This left us with some extra time to get started on the drip system. After briefly tracing the route of the pipe, we proceeded to begin working to prepare assembling the pipe . We constructed a frame for the pressure valve as well as the flow control and filter mechanism and the header bar (see photos below). After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, we continued working on the header bar and started digging out an area for the filter pipe. Soon, the diggers showed up, and the trench rapidly grew to the fence before the road. Before we new it, it was 3:00 in the afternoon, and we had to prepare to leave. However, we had finally made some substantial progress, laying down the header bar and the filter mechanism!
After some deliberations and calls, we decided that we won't be able to visit the orphanage again tomorrow, and Thursday won't work for Mr. Buckner, without whom we can't lay the drip line; so we will next visit on Friday.
